About me

During 12 years at a major SaaS company, I was embedded in product teams as a technical writer. I used the insight I got from that central perspective to go beyond product UX writing and documentation — to building systems that would work for everybody: writers, developers, designers, and PMs.

The standards, tools, and workflows I developed have scaled across hundreds of teams developing Salesforce products, cutting tech debt while optimizing data and UIs for better products. They accelerate workflows by dissolving bottlenecks at the touchpoints between engineering and other disciplines.

The combination of my experience on the ground with product teams and my background in linguistics and editorial production helps me make sound, scalable content decisions and work with teams to solve problems.

I hold a US patent on a system for organizing and managing user interface text.

Problems I like to solve: Content + systems

UX writing: Affordances.
Systems: Frameworks. Making one is like making a thing, an object, with workings. That others can use.

provide clarity, not just in a concept for a concept’s sake, but to give people confidence while they’re doing something for work or pleasure, to avoid distracting them with uncertainty

Finding the simplest way to work through a process. Make something that was difficult easier. Get rid of distraction and replace it with focus. Prevent unredeemable messes that force coworkers and countless other users to live with repetitive inconvenience. That make work or other required tasks feel disagreeable and draining.

Pushing for precise expression. Visual balance.
